Bi-Folding Doors & Kandla Grey Tumbled Sandstone Paving

The brief

Replace and level the paved and fenced area leading from the modern kitchen to back garden of this Victorian terrace.

The Work

The old-fashioned block paving was replaced with Kandla Grey Tumbled Sandstone laid at the same level as the interior floor, to offer a seamless transition from inside to out. The paving skilfully accommodated the trunk of an old olive tree, itself preserved with tree stakes and sensitive pruning. The old, battered lap panel fencing was covered by timber slatted fencing, painted with Cuprinol Garden Shades “Wild Thyme.”
