Contracted by an architect to completely re-design a derelict garden to complement a renovated period property that was a participant in the annual “Open House London” event in 2014.
After clearing and levelling the entire space, we installed: scaffold-board decking; artificial lawn; bespoke slate-roof wood store; raised sleeper-beds with integrated storage bench. A new fence was erected along the back of the garden and scribed decking was built around the existing fig tree.
We’d refurbished our house and the builders had used the back garden as a dumping ground, so it was nothing but bare mud. We knew we wanted space for kids and entertaining but we weren’t really sure how to make the most of it.
[They] were really helpful all the way through … they helped us think about what the sensible and effective options were for our budget. They were really straightforward and clear, and had lots of useful tips about the use of materials, space and colour to get the best effect.
During the work itself they were superb, really professional and thorough. Punctual and organised at all times, they worked hard and quickly and to a high standard. They went the extra mile to make sure everything was just as we wanted it.
In the end they came in exactly on budget and in the time they had promised. We really love our new garden and spend all the time we can out there.
